So a lot has happened since I last posted, A LOT.
But I won’t bore you with too many details, so here is the short(er) version:
I have transitioned jobs, I’m no longer teaching Pre-K I am now full time at the hotel. It was not an easy switch, I was dealing with some serious burnout and all the nastiness that comes along with it. But I can now see G0d was, very firmly, telling me that teaching at that school was not where He wanted me.
It took some time, but I got my head and my heart right and I’m happy at my current job that allows me a life outside of work. And I learned a HUGE lesson on truly and completely relying on Him, for everything, every time.
Now, I know that sounds like such a nice sentiment. It’s something I’ve heard since I was little. Like “Turn the other cheek”, makes sense but not always the easiest thing to actually do in real life.
Example:
I’ve experienced a great deal of heartbreak this last month or so; changing jobs abruptly, having my departure date “officially” pushed back, huge blowout with my mom, rough days at work where I’ve been on the verge of tears. Each time, I took it all to G0d, all of it every bit of me. Like the wise loving parent, G0d stepped in and took over and resolved each situation quicker and in wonderful ways I never could have fathomed!
Now don’t get me wrong, it still hurt, a LOT, every time, but … G0d never promised us a pain free existence. He promised us joy and peace in the offering.
My new favorite quote: “Don’t let the world change your smile. Let your smile change the world!”
Alright, off my soapbox. Let’s see…life details.
My nice new shiny departure date is April 1, 2013 (subject to change, as it goes in this line of work) after my sister’s wedding. Yes, my sister is getting married next March, to a wonderful man, Travis, who I can’t wait to be my new brother-in-law! I am doing my best to serve as her maid of honor and I’m excited to get to be here, state side, for the whole pre-wedding process.

Well I’m off dear friends, the storm that knocked out the power in Lucas has passed and the power is back on. So it’s time for me to vacate this table at Starbucks I’ve happily taken up for the last several hours and head home.
